Oatmeal In The Slow Cooker

Yep, breakfast is ready for you when you wake up. This must be what it’s like to live large. Ok just kidding, but yes really nice to have your breakfast waiting for you.

2 cups oatmal, not the quick cooking kind obviously

5 oz can of evaporated milk

1 tsp cinnamon

2 Granny Smith apples, peeled n diced

6 cups of water

nuts or raisins for topping

Do all this before bed, as you are going to let this cook on low while you snooze. First grease the crock with cooking spray. If you skip this step, you will be sorry you did. Toss in oatmeal, then add apples.

Sprinkle with the cinnamon and pour in the milk.

Add the water.

Put the cover on and cook on low for 6 hours to 8 hours. At this point send yourself to bed. Hopefully you have good dreams, but only if they are not about The Rock. He’s spoken for. In the morning after you wipe the drool from your face, go to your kitchen to prepare the toppings. If using raisins, place them in a bowl of warm water to soften them. Let them sit for a few minutes and drain.

Now go check out your oatmeal. Yep, it’s done! Give it a stir and serve it up.

Top with raisins and nuts or brown sugar if you are the type that needs oatmeal with your sugar. Enjoy.
