Apple Brown Betty

I saw this being made on a television show called Pioneer Woman. After it was over, I got dressed, went to the store and got all the ingredients to make it. I hope it gets you like that too.

6 apples

7 slices wheat bread

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

4 tbsp water

6 granny smith apples – yes I know there are only 3 in the picture, but it totally needed more apples so just do it ok?

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Peel and core the apples, slice the bread and butter into small pieces.

Grease a pan and sprinkle with some of the brown sugar.

Add some apples.

Now some bread.

Add half the butter. Rinse and repeat the layers of brown sugar, apples and bread a total of 3 times.

Top with remaining butter and evenly pour the water all around.

Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and cook another 5 minutes to get crispy. Can you believe how much it shrank?

Oh well it’s still going to be fabolous!
