Buttery Toffery Poppery

This that sticky icky yum yum you just can’t put down.  Behold genius for your mouth ….

1 cup popcorn kernels

2 sticks unsalted butter

2 cups light brown sugar

2 tbsp water

pinch of salt

2 tsp real vanilla extract

2 tsp baking soda

8 oz dark chocolate

Now I doubled this recipe from the original since we wanted extra to pass out to friends. If you want less half all of the above.

Line 2 to 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Time to get down to business. Throw the butta, brown suga, water & salt in a pan over medium heat. Stir so it does not stick to the bottom.

You want the temp to get to 305 degrees, check with your candy thermometer. This stuff is hot as hell, do not even attempt to stick your finger in for a test.

Look at those bubbles! Stir in the vanilla and baking soda.

Now pour over your popcorn.

Mix together and lay out on the baking sheets.

Let them cool while you make the chocolate drizz.

Melt the chocolate. I did it in a pan, so add a little water so it does not boil too much.

Once melted sprinkle over the popcorn and let dry.

For more fun you could make popcorn balls. Instead of brown sugar throw a bag of marshmallows in the pot and melt. Pour over the popcorn and form balls. This is some sticky ish so move fast!
